I read, better, I devour fantasy novels. Tolkien, Brooks, Troisi are only three of my favourite authors, they describe a parallel world where my soul would live in. Their words animate our imagination, but there is another wonderful way to portray this magical world: the visual arts. The impact of some fantasy artworks is really impressive and in the computer age we have many wonderful digital illustrations about fantasy.
In this post I present amazing collection of 20 stunning fantasy illustrations that impressed me. They use different techniques, from airbrush to painting, from digital painting to photo manipulation, anyway the final result is awesome.

The paintings of Paul Gerrard have a style and imagination unique, He says “I want to create images that will stay in the minds of the onlookers for generations. I like to challenge what images can do to the human mind, to do that you need to understand our fears and aspiration”.
