Neelam Kothari and Sameer Soni will be get hitched in the last week of January. A source says, "The actress and her beau have been seeing each other for more than three years now. Following his exit from Bigg Boss 4, the couple decided to get married by the month-end. However, there was no official proposal from Sameer. The two know that they want to spend the rest of their lives together and that marriage was always on the cards. It's just that the couple didn't want to waste time and decided to strengthen their bond by legalising it. Rumours about their marriage began last week and people have been calling the couple up and asking about the date but they are being tight-lipped, insisting it will be a small, intimate affair." A source close to Neelam says, "Sameer and she are trying to finalise the marriage date for the last week of January. Failing that, the first week of February is a definite possibility. Her brother who stays in the US with his family, Sameer's parents who stay in Shimla and Delhi and his brothers and their families who stay in Delhi and USA, will all be coming down for the wedding so Neelam and Sameer are working on the wedding dates depending on their availability." Though close friends like Karan Johar, Tusshar and Ekta Kapoor are expected to be present, Neelam's friend insists that it won't be a 'typical big, fat, glittering B-Town wedding.' KBC loser in Bigg Boss!

How does it feel to win and then lose it all? Ask Prashant Batar, 32, a " KBC" contestant from Meerut (but residing in Mumbai since the last six years) and he'll have the answer . 

After all, he won a crore to lose it all the very next minute. Destiny? Luck? Wrong decision? Call it anything. The moolah was gone. From a crore, he came down to `3,20,000 only... Here, Prashant shields more queries with gusto. 

Why did you attempt the jackpot question if you were not sure about the answer? 
I had read it somewhere many years back. I knew the right answer. But somewhere in between I lost concentration at that moment. It's very different when one is on the hot seat. I guess I was under too much pressure. I knew I'd lose a lot of money if I went wrong. And that's what happened. 

Did Bachchan's awe inspiring persona become intimidating at any point during the game? 
On the contrary, he makes you feel so comfortable. I was playing very easily when he started talking to me. It just becomes a one-to-one conversation with him. He takes away all your fear. 

Don't you think the stakes were too high? You had reached the crore target... So you should've at least gotten a crore. Do you think the rules need to be changed? 
Well, for sure, the stakes were very high. In fact, I had pointed out the same to the channel but they said that the format was based on the international game standard and hence could not be changed. Personally, I feel that when one reaches a crore, then one must take away at least `50 lakh and not be brought down so drastically to a mere `3 lakh. 

Why did you want to be on a game show? 
It was a dream show for me from the very first time that it had started in 2000. I had been trying since then. But it is not easy to reach there. I took it up as a challenge. Earlier the selections were made through phone only. But this year there was a change in the selection criterion. There was a written test along with an interview. 

Why do you think you got selected this time around? 
I guess it was the funny answers I gave them during the interview. They asked me why I had not gotten married, to which I retorted, 'Mujhe abhi tak koi aisi mili hi nahi jise dekh kar gudgudee ho.' 

Besotted with Deepika Padukone? 
I like her acting, her eyes, her personality. Everything about her. I guess I'm just hooked on to her. For the grand finale of "KBC", I was not aware that she'd be on the show. It was a great surprise for me. I blurted out impromptu, 'Aap mujhe apne nazdeek aane ka mauka dijiye.' Everything on the show is impromptu. Nothing is scripted. 

How did you deal with the loss of money? 
For me it was not much to deal with. I had reached the hot seat; played well; and won and then lost. Wherever I go people recognize me today. Only because I was on "KBC". They want to get clicked with me. They know me – on the road, in the mall, the neighbourhood – fame has touched me. 

Do you intend to participate in other reality shows? 
Definitely. I would love to. I believe that "Bigg Boss" is considering my name for the next season. I would like to play in a show like "Dus Ka Dum". It is more my kind of show

Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari is now ruing over a tweet of actor Arbaaz Khan which said, “I would try save Ashmit by sending a SMS,” insinuating that the Khan brothers Salman (the host of the reality show) and Arbaaz, have ‘scripted’ his eviction from Bigg Boss. Manoj is also learnt to have told a television channel that his eviction could be a ‘conspiracy’ against Bhojpuri actors. 

“Mr Tiwari is singling out Arbaaz just because he is unable to digest his defeat opposite Ashmit Patel and probably feels the need to blame someone for it. If Arbaaz tweeted, what’s wrong about it? Doesn’t Arbaaz have his own identity, independent ofSalman Khan? Just because he is Salman’s brother, can Manoj Tiwari hold him guilty for tweeting? By doing so, he’s being a petty superstar,” reacted Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar. 

In his moment of embarrassment, Manoj seems to have conveniently missed out the fact that Karan Johar, Amisha Patel, Manyata and Sanjay Dutt, Farah Khan, Ali Merchant, Hrishant Goswami, Ishq Bector and a host of Bollywood people, along with Ashmit’s growing fan-following, put in their bit to help him win the round opposite the Bhojpuri superstar. We are aware how most of them SMS’d, emailed, posted messages on their Blackberry Messengers, Twitter and Facebook and even spread the word-of-mouth. 

Moreover, the biggest chunk of votes must have come from Gujarat, where a mass SMS campaign called ‘Save Aapno Gujjubhai’ (Save Our Gujjubhai) was conducted in the state by Ashmit’s managing team. 

Inspite of this, fans of Manoj Tiwari have burnt effigies of Salman Khan in Patna. Manoj Tiwari Fan Club president Manish Kumar, along with some 20-25 supporters, protested against eviction of their superstar and claimed that Bigg Boss had ‘insulted’ the 26-crore Bhojpuri community.

Madhuri Dixit to judge Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 4

Bollywood's original dancing diva Madhuri Dixit has been missing from the big screen for some time now but the actress is staging a comeback to the world of showbiz as a celebrity judge on television. 

Last seen in 'Aaja Nachle' which was a box office dud, the 43-year-old actress will be seen assessing other celebs on the fourth season of dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa', which is the Indian adaptation of US show 'Dancing With The Stars'. 

"Since dance is my passion and this show is associated with that, I thought of taking it up. It took me some time to say yes. After I went to Los Angeles and saw how 'Dancing With The Stars' was being shot, I was finally convinced about accepting this offer," said Madhuri at the launch of the Sony show in the capital last night. 

The 'Dhak Dhak' girl will have choreographer Remo D'Souza for company on the judges' panel and although the third judges' name has not been revealed, rumours are rife that star choreographer Saroj Khan might come on board. "I don't know yet, thats up to Sony. But it'll be great for me if Sarojji becomes the third judge. I'll keep my fingers crossed," said Madhuri, who has danced to Khan's tunes in hit songs like 'Channe Ke Kheth' and 'Ek Do Teen'. 

As a judge, the actress says she will be looking at the grace, poise and the attitude of the contestants and leave the technical details to her co-judges. 

"The participants in the show are well-known in their own fields. They are people who are ambitious and will give in their best to win the challenge they have taken up. I will be looking at how they project themselves and bring in their personalities in their performance," said Madhuri. The mother of two, who moved to the US post marriage is in India for three months to shoot for the reality show and is also looking at scripts in the meantime. 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa' will go on air from December 13.
