Speculation is rife that Sanjay Dutt has been approached to anchor Dus Ka Dum season three on Sony Entertainment, replacing the show’s previous host Salman Khan. The supposed reasons is Khan’s fee, reportedly Rs 2.5 crore per episode as opposed to Rs 89 crore for 104 episodes back in 2008 when the show lauched.
Got a date?
Added to this were date problems and a rift over Kaun Banega Crorepati 4 getting the green light, ahead of DKD 3. Days after Amitabh Bachchan returned to the show after six years, Khan opened the doors to the Bigg Boss 4 House.
Ajit Thakur, executive vice president and business head of Sony, however, insists that Dus Ka Dum 3 will return next year but refuses to comment on Khan’s re-entry or exit. “We’re weighing our options, talks are on with some top names. Whether it comes back in the first half or the second half will depend on who agrees to host the show,” he says.
Vivek Kamat of Matrix, Khan’s management company, adds that the only TV show Salman is doing is Bigg Boss 4: “There is currently no plan or discussion on any other show with any channel. All talks about Salman doing another show are purely speculative.”
According to another rumour, Anil Kapoor is another contender. He was also in the running for Kaun Banega Crorepati 4. Kapoor however denies the buzz, “I haven’t been approached by anyone for any show yet.”
